ABOUT CHRISTIAN GUITAR WORKSHOP
Christian Guitar Workshop was created by Rich Severson, Guitar College author, to share his skill and faith with Christian guitar players worldwide. It first began as a half hour TV show on FAITH TV featuring interviews, lessons and performances by Rich and a variety of Christian guitarists.  Unfortunately we were unable to obtain sponsors and could not financially support the entire project on our own.  We  decided to keep the website to provide instructional materials, workshops and encouragement to the Christian guitarist.  We hope it will in some way be blessing to you and your music.


ABOUT GUITAR COLLEGE
Our philosophy relates to an old adage, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for life." It's that way with guitar playing too. Learn a song and all you'll know is a song. We'll teach you some music theory, develop your ear and improve your skill so you can learn all the songs you want. You can develop your skills so you can read charts, learn new songs, change keys on the spot and improve your songwriting too.

In 1989, while instructing at GIT in Hollywood, Rich saw the need for guitarists worldwide to have a music education as well as just a guitar lesson. Already a published author Rich decided to develop and publish a mail order program of written and audio guitar lessons called "Guitar Correspondence." In 1994, the more than 100 correspondence lessons written they were grouped by subject, packaged into home study courses and offered on the world wide web as www.GuitarCollege.com. Along the way video supplements have been added to many courses. Since then over ten thousand students worldwide have improved their skill and increased their knowledge with his courses.

In 2005 Guitar College launched a two hour Video Magazine on DVD. It is an "Entertainment Tonight" style show for guitar players with lessons in a variety of styles, interviews, performances, events, etc. In 2007 Rich sponsored and hosted the Christian Guitar Worship TV show to inspire, educate, instruct and encourage Christian guitarists across the country.  However with lack of sponsorship he was unable to maintain our TV air time and streaming show format.  In 2008 Guitar College switched from the Video Magazine format to a download format and launched www.99CentGuitarLessons.com to provide affordable, quality, instant download guitar instruction during these tough economic times.  Of course all the regular home study courses are still available at www.GuitarCollege.com  in either the standard books with CDS, or now more affordably offered also in MP3 with PDF on CD-Rom or in downloadable formats.
